‘Big Eyes’ Trailer: Tim Burton Comes Back Down to Earth There are certain things we’ve come to expect from a Tim Burton movie. Fantastical settings with whimsical rules. Dead people and undead creatures. Johnny Depp in heavy white makeup. But his latest movie Big Eyes has none of that, and looks all the more intriguing for it. The historical drama stars Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz as real-life artist Margaret and Walter Keane, whose paintings of doe-eyed children became a phenomenon in the ’50s and ’60s. Publicly, he took all the credit, but privately, she made all the art.

We've been wondering for weeks whether Warner Bros. and Marvel were truly serious about pitting Captain America 3 against the Man of Steel sequel Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on May 6, 2016, and now we have our answer: The two films won't go head-to-head after all, and Warners was the studio that blinked first.

First Look at Amy Adams in Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes' USA Today has our first look at director Tim Burton's Big Eyes, which follows the plight of American artists Margaret and Walter Keane, the husband and wife team responsible for launching the 'Big Eyed' kids trend in the 50s and 60s. Here, we see Amy Adams bringing Margaret to life alongside one of her iconic paintings. And a second photo offers our first look at Christoph Waltz as Walter, who was taken to court over the authorship of his shared work with his wife.

Well, this is interesting: After announcing the Man of Steel sequel at the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2013 and running full steam ahead with casting announcements in the months following that bombshell, Warner Bros. has apparently had a change of heart regarding just how quickly its Superman-Batman mashup movie will actually make it to theaters.
