First 'Gravity' Trailer Makes Outer Space Look Pants-Wettingly Scary

There's been a lot of debate over the last several years about the value of the American space program and how much opportunity for scientific/social progress we're wasting by not devoting more resources to sending people off-planet, but what both sides of the argument often tend to ignore is that space is very, very scary.

Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone--tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.
