Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Gatsby’ Topped By ‘Iron Man 3’
2:30 PM 5/12/2013 by Logan Falk
This weekend, the box office bore witness to an epic earnings battle between two rich, famous, charismatic, self-destructive film protagonists: the “Great” Jay Gatsby, and Iron Man 3’s Tony Stark. As glitzy and popular as The Great Gatsby was, it was ultimately no match for the superhero allure of Iorn Man 3.
Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Iron Man 3’ Dominates
9:14 PM 5/5/2013 by Logan Falk
Well, it’s fair to say that this weekend has been very kind to last week’s solitary new release, the long-awaited Iron Man 3. We all knew it would make a whole bunch of money on its opening weekend—the only question left was just how much.
Weekend Box Office Report: 'Pain and Gain' Earns Big, 'The Big Wedding' Gets More Pain than Gain
1:31 PM 4/28/2013 by Logan Falk
Despite a bleak critical reception for last week’s new releases, both of the new films made a decent showing for themselves in the box office, if not fantastic (or even consistent with their predicted weekend revenues).
Pain and Gain made its way to the top spot this weekend, earning $20 million.

3:20 PM 4/21/2013 by Logan Falk
The weekend was very kind to last week’s one and only new release, Oblivion. Otherwise, the charts have remained more or less static since last weekend.
Oblivion did quite well in the box office, making over $38.1 million; while this is at the bottom end of its predicted range for its opening weekend gross, it’s still a respectable sum, and the film can probably expect similarly impressive numbers in later weeks.
