Zoe Saldana May Make the Cut for 'Guardians of the Galaxy'; The Controller Rumored for Movie
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy may have found its Gamora. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Zoe Saldana is in talks to play the green-skinned martial artist, who is a member of the said Guardians.
Although Gamora is one of the good guys, she is also the adopted daughter of Thanos, the supposed main villain in the movie. The last of her race, Gamora was picked up and raised by Thanos as a tool to further his plans. She is trained in the martial arts and has super-human strength and agility, which is pretty much required in her line of work.
Saldana will join Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, who are playing Star-Lord and Drax the Destroyer, respectively. The other two remaining members yet to be cast are Groot and Rocket Racoon. Those two will most likely be CGI mo-cap characters.
Guardians of the Galaxy is to be directed by James Gunn, and the movie will be shooting this June over in the UK for a August 1, 2014 release.
On the rumor front, Latino Review has heard that The Controller is going to be in the movie and "will act as Thanos' main henchman and ambassador."
The Controller is a human who has been cybernetically enhanced and has his eyes set on taking over the world. Of course.
