Zac Efron Reportedly Meeting with Marvel

Posted 3:53 PM May 14th, 2014 by Jeff Giles

Zac Efron is in full "career resurgence" mode following the solid reviews and box office-busting performance of Neighbors last weekend, which must have reminded the folks upstairs at Marvel that there was a perfectly good set of abs wandering around Hollywood without a superhero franchise to call his own. At least, that's what's happening if Latino Review's sources are on target.

We're definitely not going to get anything resembling a confirmation on this anytime soon, so it's safe to indulge in some harmless conjecture; to that end, LR's report postulates that perhaps Efron is meeting with the Marvel brass about possibly starring in Daredevil or Doctor Strange neither of whom exactly seem like the sort of sculpted, cocksure bro Efron excels at playing, but hey, stranger things have happened between the printed page and the screen.

This isn't the first time Efron's name has been floated in relation to a major franchise; he was also recently rumored to be in contention for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII. Although those rumors came to naught, perhaps he's on a first-name basis now with the folks who sign the checks in the DisneyMarvelverse, which could come in handy if and when he's being asked to don red tights or a mystical cape.
