What's Popping: 'Justice League', 'Ghostbusters 3', 'Mad Max: Fury Road', '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', ' Transformers 4'

Justice League

Those wanting Warner Bros to hurry up with their Justice League movie will finally get their wish; the studio is targeting 2015 for the movie's release. However, if WB wants to make the 2015 release, they'd better hurry up. All WB has at the moment is just a script; there's no director or stars attached to the movie. In an interesting tidbit, The Avengers 2 is also being released in 2015. Maybe this is planned so that Justice League can take advantage of the halo effect from The Avengers 2.

When Bill Murray finally gave his blessing for the third Ghostbusters movie, it's only a matter of time until it makes its way into theaters. And that time appears to be sometime in 2014. Deadline has learned that the movie is eyeing a summer 2013 shoot and that it may no longer be a sequel, but a reboot.

Mad Max: Fury Road is currently shooting in Namibia, but the shoot is not going smoothly. The movie is at least a week behind schedule, causing the budget to go up. Warner Bros is definitely concerned though and has sent producer Denise di Novi out there to keep an eye on things. The movie is decades in the making, so what's a little delay in the grand scheme of things?

To 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or not to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, that is the question Disney is considering. The studio is giving itself three months to decide if it wants to greenlight the movie that David Fincher is attached to direct. If not, Fincher is moving on to something else. To make Disney's decision easier, Fincher is said to be pursuing Brad Pitt to headline the movie.

With the action comedy Pain and Gain about to cross the finish line, Michael Bay is getting ready to work on Transformers 4. The movie is reportedly eyeing an April or May shoot in 2013 for a June 27, 2014 release. The new human headliners in the movie will be an 18 year-old high school senior and her race car-driving boy friend, which they are currently casting.
