What's Popping: 'Battle Angel', 'Justice League', 'Black Panther', 'White Chicks 2', 'Grapes of Wrath'

James Cameron may not be solely in the Avatar business after all. The director told an audience at the TagDF conference that he will work on his long-gestating Battle Angel adaptation after he's done with the third Avatar movie, which may be sometime in 2017.
If or when Warner Bros' Justice League makes its way to theaters, don't expect to see Christian Bale playing Batman in the movie. Unless Christopher Nolan requested him back for another Dark Knight movie, the actor says he's done with the character. "It's a torch that should be handed from one actor to another," Bale told EW. "So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with."
For those wondering when T'Challa, leader of the African kingdom of Wakanda, will get his own movie, comic books luminary Stan Lee has said that Marvel is still trying to get the Black Panther to the big screen" "[T]hey're working on Ant-Man, working on Doctor Strange; they're working on Guardians of the Galaxy; they're working on God knows what. Did I say the Black Panther also?" As to when it'll come out is anyone's guess.
Look out, world! White Chicks 2 is threatening to becoming a reality because there are, apparently, lots of demand for it. "We're thinking about it, actually seriously talking about doing it. It's the one thing that everybody begs us to do," Marlon Wayans said.
DreamWorks and Steven Spielberg are planning another adaptation of John Steinbeck's classic novel The Grapes of Wrath, but due to scheduling conflicts with American Sniper, Spielberg may have to settle with being a producer of the movie instead of being the director. Supposedly, DreamWorks wants the movie out in 2014 for the book's 75th anniversary.
