Weekend Box Office Report: 'Guardians' and 'Ninja Turtles' Continued Their Dominance

Guardians of the Galaxy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles spent another weekend at the top of the box office. The newcomers -- The November Man and As Above/So Below -- performed just as expected.
After recapturing the top spot from Ninja Turtles last weekend, Guardians managed to remain there with a $22.9 million take over the four-day Labor Day holiday.
Second place Ninja Turtles is still a favorite at the cinemas and continues to prove critics wrong with a $15.6 million take over the same time period.
A sequel may not be in the cards, but the big screen adaptation of Gayle Forman's romance novel If I Stay remained in third place at $11.7 million.
Fox's comedy Let's Be Cops came in fourth at $10.4 million. Universal's found footage horror movie As Above/So Below rounded out the top five at $10.3 million. Pierce Brosnan's action thriller The November Man just missed the cut at $10.1 million.
