The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies won't march into theaters until December 17, but the marketing campaign for the final installment in director Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy has already begun -- and now the film's first trailer, which debuted at Comic-Con, has made its way online.

Essentially, everything you're looking for in a Hobbit trailer is here, although it's hard not to roll one's eyes at the interstitial splash that dubs it "the defining chapter of the Middle-earth Saga." Battles? Creatures? Dramatic conversations? Portentous soundtrack? Yes, yes, yes, and yes; they're all here, present and accounted for. Will you be there when Battle of the Five Armies arrives?
