I Am Legend

Since Will Smith is unwilling to do a followup to his 2007 sci-fi thriller I Am Legend, Warner Bros. is moving on without him. According to Deadline, the studio is re-purposing Gary Graham's script A Garden at the End of the World, which is described as a sci-fi version of John Wayne's The Searchers, to serve as a reboot of the movie. Graham is doing the rewrites.

Back in 2012, Arash Amel was hired by Warner to write the script to another I Am Legend movie, but Smith was never warm to the idea.

"If it's great, I'm into it," Smith said back in 2012. "I don't want to be the sequel guy."

Apparently, whatever Amel came up with wasn't that great. With Smith now out of the picture, the obstacle standing in the way of a potential franchise is removed. At least, that is what the studio is hoping.

Now, we will get to find out how the movie will perform without Smith.
