Warner Bros. Passes on 'Dumb and Dumber' Sequel

Dumb and Dumber

Ever wanted to own the distribution rights to a Farrelly brothers movie? Now's your chance: Warner Bros., apparently feeling dumb enough already, has decided to pass on the on-again, off-again, on-yet-again Dumb and Dumber sequel.

This news, tipped by the Hollywood Reporter, is at least mildly surprising given that after years of failing to incite the interest of original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, the Farrellys now have them attached -- but as THR points out, Carrey's presence didn't do much to improve the commercial fate of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, which failed to earn back its $30 million budget earlier this year.
