The Wachowskis' 'Jupiter Ascending' Has a Release Date
The Wachowskis' sci-fi flick Jupiter Ascending has been given a release date in the summer months of 2014. The movie will go up against Paramount's Hercules, which stars Dwayne Johnson as the demi god, on July 25, 2014.
Jupiter Ascending is described as a Snow White in space tale where a young cleaning lady is being targeted for extermination by the queen of the universe because she has the same genetic makeup. The person who was sent to kill her ended helping her elude the queen's other exterminators.
Mila Kunis will topline the movie along with Channing Tatum. Douglas Booth, Eddie Redmayne, Sean Bean, and Tuppence Middleton will also star.
The movie is shooting sometime this spring.
In other Warner Bros-related news, the studio has moved the Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone comedy, Grudge Match, from November 15, 2013 to to January 10, 2014, which is telling of the studio's confidence in the movie because January is not known for quality releases.
