In case you don't think we have enough witch hunting movies, TheWrap (via Shocktillyoudrop) has caught word that Vin Diesel is in talks to star in Lionsgate/Summit's The Last Witch Hunter.

If they can agree to a deal, Diesel will play a witch hunter – the last of his kind, in fact – who will have to stop the population of witches and warlocks from growing in modern day Manhattan.

Timur Bekmambetov was previously attached to direct the movie back in 2010, but he has since moved on. Sahara's Breck Eisner is now attached to direct this Cory Goodman-scripted fantasy-action movie for Lionsgate/Summit.

Diesel is currently over in Europe filming The Fast and the Furious 6 with Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson. That movie is scheduled to come out on May 24, 2013.

A similarly themed movie called Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunter starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton is coming out to theaters on January 11, 2013. From its recently released trailer, the movie could benefit by spending more time in the oven.
