'Underworld' Gets Rebooted

Underworld

Underworld: Awakening was released just two years ago and was the highest grossing movie in the series, but Lakeshore Entertainment feels it's time to give the franchise the good old reboot, THR has learned. Cory Goodman has been hired to write the script.

With the exception of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, all the Underworld movies starred Kate Beckinsale as the vampire warrior Selene, who is on the frontline in a war between vampires, werewolves, and humans.

Why reboot the series now? It's probably because Beckinsale doesn't want to do another one.

She has expressed in interviews that it wasn't her intention to return for Awakening, but she did so because she liked what her husband Len Wiseman came up for the movie.

Does the world need an Underworld reboot? We will certainly find out.
