'Tusk' Trailer Debuts, Makes Us Believe in Kevin Smith Again

Tusk

It's been a frightfully long time since Kevin Smith made a movie that made us feel like watching it again (or, in the case of dreck like Cop Out, even finishing the damn thing once), and on paper, it doesn't look like Tusk -- the story of a doofus podcaster who wanders into the Canadian wilderness and gets himself mixed up with a mad scientist who wants to turn him into a walrus -- stands a prayer of breaking that dismal streak.

But our skepticism's been halved after watching this trailer, which makes the movie look like it blends comedy and horror about as effortlessly as anything we've seen in recent memory. Sure, Long's mustache is unforgivable (and there's no way in the world we're buying Genesis Rodriguez as his loving girlfriend), but still...Tusk might just be crazy enough to work. Check out the clip below, and keep an eye out for the full-length feature on September 19.
