The Lone Ranger

Principal photography for The Lone Ranger was completed recently, but it was not without problems. The shoot was beset by violent dust storms, budget overruns, and even a death on the set.

We're curious to see how this $250+ million movie turned out, and we can get our first glimpse of the movie in the trailer below.

Based on the TV series from the late 1940s, the movie stars Armie Hammer as the title character who along with his Indian sidekick Tonto, played by Johnny Depp, team up to fight those the law can't or won't touch.

My first reaction is: Didn't I see something similar in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows?

Here are some takeaways from the first trailer. While people may not die from them, there are going to be lots of shoot outs. Riders jumping off from a moving horse is the preferred way to board a train. Johnny Depp is going to have that crow on his head for the whole movie.

Directed by Gore Verbinski, The Lone Ranger is set for July 3, 2013.
