Terry Crews Says Just How Much He'll Be In Expendables 3

When The Expendables 3 began production, Terry Crews had just begun working on the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. As of July 2013, he wasn’t even sure he could appear in Expendables 3, as Crews said at Comic-Con. Crews was able to work the schedule out to appear in the film and every episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he said at an event for the Television Critics Association the day after the show won Golden Globes for Best Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical, Andy Samberg.

“I was, yes, I was,” Crews said. “I will be in The Expendables 3.”

Crews’ character, Hale Caesar, was a fan favorite with his big gun at the end of the first movie, and his big arms holding open an airplane door in the sequel. Crews confirmed that his screen time was lessened due to the scheduling conflicts, but assured fans that the other Expendables pick up the slack.

“It got a little limited with the schedule, but they actually added more people so it works out much better,” Crews said.

Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger were in Expendables 1 for one scene, and Chuck Norris was very limited in Expendables 2. Crews said he’s still in the third film more than Chuck was in the second.

“Yeah, more than that. More than that, but less than Sly.”

The Expendables 3 opens August 15, 2014.
