'Taken 3' Trailer: Liam Neeson Is Back in Action

Taken 3

It hardly seemed like the stuff of a trilogy in the making when it debuted in 2008, but Taken made a ton of money while repositioning Liam Neeson as an unlikely late-blooming action hero, so here we are, months away from what's supposedly the final installment in the Taken franchise.

Taken 3 (or, if you prefer, Tak3n, finds Neeson's Bryan Mills comfily ensconced in domestic bliss with his wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace), but as every film fan knows, that's just the prelude to a whole bunch of butt-kicking -- and as this trailer makes clear, Mills has a very good reason to deliver the beatdowns this time around.

Honestly, the series has never looked more ludicrous, but Neeson's awfully good at this sort of thing, and it's always nice to see Forest Whitaker. Fingers crossed? Watch below, and mark your calendars for January 9, 2015.
