Sony N The 'Hood'

Sony is committing to Robin Hood in a big way; it has spent seven figures to acquire Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott's pitch for a series of movies centered around Hood and his band of Merry Men.
If you're thinking Marvel Cinematic Universe, you're on to the reason why it was sold for such a price since "universe" and "Avengers" are part of the pitch, according to THR.
Titled Hood, the movie will be similar in tone to Mission: Impossible and the Fast & Furious movies.
This is a potentially good move for Sony if, and that's a big if, the studio is able to make this work. Besides James Bond and Spider-Man, there are not much there in the way of a major franchise for the studio to count on so why not take the chance?
Michael De Luca will oversee the project for Sony.
