Sigourney Weaver Will Play a Different Character in the 'Avatar' Sequels

We've probably all wondered how Sigourney Weaver's character is going to come back from the dead in the Avatar sequels. It turns out she won't. More specifically, Weaver is playing a different character.
"Her character of Grace Augustine, as fans know, died in the first movie, so she's playing a different and in many ways more challenging character in the upcoming films," James Cameron told Deadline. "We're both looking forward to this new creative challenge, the latest chapter in our long and continuing collaboration."
So, a clone or a manifestation of the goddess Eywa?
Stephen Lang's Colonel Miles Quaritch also met his end in the first movie, but he's also returning for the sequels as well, so it appears death is not so final in the Avatar universe. Looking forward to the explanation.
The three Avatar sequels will begin filming back-to-back this fall, with the first one schedule for release in December 2016.
