'Seventh Son' Debuts New Trailer, Still Seems Kind of Sad

Seventh Son

It's been bumped so many times that we'd honestly kind of forgotten it hadn't actually come out, but no -- Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore's The Seventh Son is still on the Universal schedule, where it's currently slated to come out on (long pause) February 6, 2015.

You know what a February release date for a fantasy drama means and so do we, so we won't beat around the bush here -- the second trailer for The Seventh Son looks fairly dire in a "maybe this should have gone direct to video" sort of way, and its sole hope of gaining any sort of traction at the box office seems to be the fact that basically nothing of value comes out that time of year.

Also, even though it was made back in 2012, Seventh marks the latest in a series of pictures in which Bridges seems to be deep in the throes of a Johnny Depp-style phase that leans far more on wardrobe/diction affectations than good old-fashioned acting. We miss Jeff Bridges acting like a guy who looks and sounds like Jeff Bridges. Can we get back to that soon?
