Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow Not In 'Iron Man 3'
Iron Man 3 is scheduled to go before the camera next month and it looks like that little bit of news last month about Scarlett Johansson returning to reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow is not true afterall.
In an interview with Screenrant's Jennings Roth Cornet, Johansson informed the interviewer that she is not involved in the third movie but would be thrilled if a stand alone movie is made about her character.
Fear not, Black Widow fans. Even though she won't appear in Iron Man 3, there will be ample opportunities for Johansson to get back into her catsuit because there are many more movies to be made about Marvel's superheroes and it is a guarantee that there will be an Avengers 2.
In case you haven't been keeping up with Iron Man 3 news, the third movie will take place after the events in The Avengers.
The new threat facing Iron Man will come in the form of a virus that has the ability to give a small percentage of people superhuman abilities. For the majority who are not compatible, they will die from the effects.
The virus somehow ends up in the hands of terrorists, and we can make some guesses on how they'll use it.
Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley have signed on to play the villains in the movie, and there may be others to be revealed later on. Jessica Chastain is playing a scientist whose motives may not be entirely clear.
Andy Lau is reportedly in talks to play Tony Stark's close friend over in China. According to sources, he will use China's technology to help Iron Man out when he's in a bind.
Shane Black is taking over directorial duties from Jon Favreau who may have left the franchise over creative and financial differences.
Iron Man 3 is scheduled for release on May 3, 2013.
