Michael Shannon and Samantha Morton

Samantha Morton and Michael Shannon are set to star in John McNaughton's psychological thriller The Harvest, Elephant Eye Films announced today.

Morton will play a successful heart surgeon named Katherine Young, and Shannon will play her husband, Richard, who quits his job as a nurse to care for their sick son, Andy.

When a 13-year-old girl (Natasha Calis) moves in next door and got close to Andy, Katherine's over-protective nature got the best of her.

The movie also stars Leslie Lyles and Meadow Williams.

Wild Things' John McNaughton is directing from a script by Stephen Lancellotti. Kim Jose, David Robinson, Steven A. Jones, and Meadow Williams are producing. The Harvest is currently shooting in New York.

The Harvest represents McNaughton's first feature since the 2001 comedy Speak of Sex.
