'Safe House' Director Daniel Espinosa Developing John Grisham's 'The Racketeer'
John Grisham's latest best-selling novel The Racketeer is being adapted for the big screen by Swedish director Daniel Espinosa, who is exec-producing the movie with an eye toward directing it, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In The Racketeer, a federal judge and his mistress were murdered at a remote lakeside cabin and their bodies were found next to an empty safe.
The investigators haven't a clue on who did this, and the only person who knows anything about crime is a former attorney who's doing time in prison.
The search is on for a writer to adapt the novel.
Espinosa made his Hollywood debut with 2012's Safe House, a thriller starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. That movie went on to make over $208 million at the global box office.
Looks like Espinosa will be staying on this side of the pond for awhile.
