Robert Luketic Directing 'The ExpendaBelles'

Robert Luketic

The ExpendaBelles, the female-themed Expendables spinoff, will be directed by Legally Blonde's Robert Luketic, according to Deadline. Milla Jovovich, Cameron Diaz, and Meryl Streep are rumored to headline the movie.

Produced by Sylvester Stallone and Kevin King, the action-comedy will be centered on an all-female mercenary team brought together to rescue a nuclear scientist from the grips of an evil dictator who's trying to, wait for it, take over the world. In order to infiltrate the dictator's island, these gals will disguise themselves as prostitutes.

The script is written by Legally Blonde's Kristen Smith and Karen McCullah and production is set for this summer.

No actress is officially attached yet, but exec producer Avi Lerner has said they're in talks with Milla Jovovich, Cameron Diaz, and Meryl Streep.

What happened to Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff? Apparently, they're in a completely different movie. That one is produced by Adi Shankar and is currently untitled.
