Peter Dinklage to Play a Key Role in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Peter Dinklage

Deadline has heard that Bryan Singer will bring in Peter Dinklage to join the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past for an unspecified, but key, role in the movie.

It has speculated that he could play Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels who will give the X-Men trouble in the X-Men: First Class sequel. Or he may play some mo-cap character.

In any case, Dinklage will join the cast members from First Class in addition to some the vets from the earlier X-Men movies like Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, and Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore.

Days of Future Past will take place 10 years after the events in the last movie and will feature some time traveling where the younger X-Men get to meet older versions of themselves. Those giant robots, the Sentinels, will play a big role in the movie.

Singer will direct from a script by Matthew Vaughn, and the movie is set for a July 18, 2014 release.
