It turns out there is another villain other than Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and he'll be played by none other than Paul Giamatti. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Giamatti is in talks to play The Rhino, a Russian who possesses superhuman strength and likes to wear a costume resembling a rhino.

Giamatti and muscles are not words one usually sees together so the special effects department will have to do some heavy lifting.

Believe it or not, this is sort of a dream role for thespian. He thought The Rhino was "the greatest thing" when he was a kid.

Besides Giamatti, Felicity Jones may also board the movie in an unspecified role.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is planning to shoot sometime next month, with Andrew Garfield returning to play the title character. Emma Stone is back as Gwen Stacy as well. Joining them in the sequel are Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne, and Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson. Anyone smell a love triangle brewing?

Marc Webb is returning to direct from a script by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

2012's The Amazing Spider-Man was a successful reboot of the franchise, making over $752 million at the global box office.
