'Now You See Me' Gets a Sequel

Now You See Me

Since Lionsgate heist thriller Now You See Me is surprisingly profitable, the studio will try to pull off the same trick with a sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie has made over $115 million domestically and $117 million overseas. When it opens in China, Australia and Japan, Lionsgate is projecting the overseas box office to exceed $150 million.

Those numbers are pretty good considering Now You See Me cost a reported $75 million to make.

In the movie, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Woody Harrelson star as magicians who rob banks as part of their performance. Morgan Freeman plays a character out to expose them.

Lionsgate has not revealed who's involved in the sequel other than it's being worked on. Let's see if they can pull off a sequel that's not a rehash of the first movie.
