The Avengers is not the only superheroes movie coming out this year, though it may seem like it with all the coverage it is receiving. With the release of a new trailer, The Dark Knight Rises wants to remind people that it's coming out this year as well. Check it out below.

The Dark Knight Rises is the conclusion of the story arc that started with Batman Begins back in 2005, which explained how and why Bruce Wayne decided to become Batman.

He teamed up Gotham City's district attorney Harvey Dent and Police Commissioner Jim Gordon to reign in the city's criminal elements in 2008's The Dark Knight. The mission was accomplished, but not without casualties.

Now, in The Dark Knight Rises, Batman is a wanted criminal but Gotham City is enjoying a rare stretch of peace on its streets. That won't last long however as a new threat will turn the city into a battlefield.

The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters on July 20th and is the final Batman movie by director Christopher Nolan and its star Christian Bale. After this, the franchise will be reportedly rebooted with a new cast and crew.
