'Mad Max 4: Fury Road' Still Delayed?

Tom Hardy

From the previous reports, it appeared Mad Max: Fury Road was going into production soon. They've transported the vehicles to be used in the movie from Broken Hill, Australia to the new location located in Namibia, Africa. They even added supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw to the cast. She is to play one of the unfortunate women being locked up in cages. In fact, the movie was supposed to shoot in April this year.

But when asked at Cannes how Fury Road is coming along, Tom Hardy, who took over the role of the title character from Mel Gibson, didn't have an answer.

He said, “We keep moving that around, you know? Who knows when it’ll come out? I’ve been on stand-by for two years…”

Since Hardy is the star of Fury Road, I find it hard to believe he's so clueless as to when the movie he's top-lining will start production. He probably knows and is being tight-lipped on purpose.

According to Empire, he's been seen sporting a beard that's going to be part of the character's look in Mad Max 4 for months now. If he didn't know when the movie is going to start, he probably wouldn't have grown that beard in the first place.

For all we know, the movie is probably shooting right now, but since there's no entertainment press at the location they're shooting, and since the cast and crew won't reveal anything, we're beingkept in the dark deliberately.

George Miller, director of the previous three Mad Max movies, will return to direct Mad Max: Fury Road from his own script. The movie stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Zoe Isabella Kravitz, and Nicholas Hoult, among others.

Supposedly, the movie will take place a few years after Beyond Thunderdome where Mad Max will have to be the bodyguard for a couple of women.

For old times sake, here's Tina Turner singing the theme song to Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
