'Machete Kills' Set for September 2013 Release

Machete

It looks like that lawsuit over Machete Kills picked the wrong Mexican to mess with: Dimension has just announced that Robert Rodriguez's Machete sequel will still slash its way into theaters this year -- on September 13, 2013, to be exact.

In case you need a refresher -- or require some semblance of a plot in order to pay to watch Danny Trejo kicking butt -- here's the official synopsis:

In Machete Kills, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

This time out, Trejo will be surrounded by an enticingly bizarre cast that includes Antonio Banderas, Cuba Gooding Jr., William Sadler, and (as the president, natch) Charlie Sheen. Needless to say, we absolutely cannot wait for this.
