Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie have been added to the Star Wars: Episode VII cast, the official Star Wars website has announced. Their parts were not revealed.

Lupita Nyong'o won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her work in 12 Years A Slave and was recently cast as the voice of the mother wolf in Disney's live-action The Jungle Book adaptation.

Christie is best known as Brienne of Tarth in the hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones and can be seen next as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII," says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. "It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."

Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
