Lucas Black Back for Next Three 'Fast & Furious' Films

Lucas Black

Lucas Black, who starred in the third Fast & Furious movie, will be back to reprise his role for the next three Fast & Furious films, Deadline has learned.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, aka Fast & Furious 3, features an all-new cast, but the only connection it shares the rest of the series is the title and an uncredited cameo by Vin Diesel at the end of the film. Other than that, it doesn't share a narrative with the rest of the series, but more on that below.

With Black's casting as a regular for the next three films, the black sheep in the series can officially join the rest of the family at the table.

In the third film, Black plays Sean Boswell, a high school student who has to live with his father in Tokyo in order to escape the troubles he has back in the States. There, he's introduced to the underground drift racing scene by a fellow American.

Interestingly enough, Tokyo Drift is said to take place after the events in Fast 6, so Black's return in Fast 7 fits within the narrative for the series.

Fast 7 is filming right now with James Wan at the helm. Look for it in theaters on July 11, 2014.
