Justin Lin to Direct Chris Hemsworth in 'Lethal Weapon' Reboot?

Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver hired Will Beall to write the Lethal Weapon reboot back in 2011 and, apparently, it is starting to bear fruit.
According to the rumor mills (via The Playlist), the movie, working under the title of Lionhunters, will be centered on, presumably, Riggs' son and his desire to join the police force, with Chris Hemsworth being sought for the role of the aspiring cop.
Not only that, the movie already has a director attached -- Justin Lin. Choosing Lin over Richard Donner would suggest the original cast may not return.
"Dick Donner is the one who's behind all this," Danny Glover said. "Dick Donner is the one. He's really the magic behind this [franchise]. There's no way this could have been done, the four Lethal Weapon movies, without Richard Donner."
There has been talks of a fifth Lethal Weapon movie for long time, but scheduling conflicts and Mel Gibson's damaged image sort of derailed the sequel, causing Silver to change directions. This quasi-reboot appears to be the result.
