'Justice League' Storyline Revealed?

We already know Darkseid is supposed to be the Justice League villain. But what's he up to?

According to Latino Review's sources, the movie will pull the inspiration for its storyline from issues 183, 184, and 185 of DC's Justice League book. Originally published in 1980, the saga found the villainous Darkseid hatching one of his nastiest plots: Wiping out Earth with a powerful death ray and scooting his own planet, Apokolips, over to take its place.

Nefarious! Intergalactic! And in the comics, the starting point for a massive crossover featuring many of DC's most popular heroes. Basically, just the kind of stuff Warner Bros. is probably hoping to get out of a Justice League movie -- but until this thing actually has a director and a cast, it's probably best to take the whole thing with a few grains of salt.

On the other hand, as Collider notes, Latino Review has a decent track record when it comes to rumors regarding movies starring costumed heroes (they sussed out Thanos' appearance in The Avengers), so there could be some truth to this -- at least until a new director comes along and decides to shuffle the deck, or until the next round of executive shakeups at Warners leaves the project without a backer. For now, though? Justice League is totally about Darkseid vaporizing the Earth.
