Joel Edgerton in Talks for Ridley Scott's 'Exodus'

Because Joel Edgerton looks like he could pass as an Egyptian, he may get to play Ramses II in Ridley Scott's biblical tale Exodus, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Christian Bale is already onboard to play Moses.
Exodus is set to shoot in September over in Spain, Morocco, and England. Scott is directing from a script by Steve Zaillian, who rewrote Adam Cooper and Bill Collage's draft.
According to an interview by Scott earlier, Exodus will be the same biblical tale we know and love but it may focus on the relationship between Moses and Ramses because that's the part Scott is interested in.
"What's interesting to me about Moses isn't the big stuff that everybody knows," Scott said. "It's things like his relationship with Ramses [II, the pharaoh]. I honestly wasn't paying attention in school when I was told the story of Moses. Some of the details of his life are extraordinary."
Of course, DreamWorks Animation's 1998 movie The Prince of Egypt has already done this brotherly love thing between Moses and Ramses, but this is Ridley Scott we're talking about. Exodus could do for biblical movies like what Alien and Blade Runner did for sci-fi.
There was rival Moses movie titled Gods and Kings developing over at Warner Bros, but when Steven Spielberg exited the movie, Fox has Moses all to itself and the studio fast-tracked the movie.
