Mad Max
His name is Max. His world is fire and blood. After a 30-year layoff, he's just about ready to make his way back to theaters with Mad Max: Fury Road, the long-brewing fourth installment in George Miller's classic post-apocalyptic franchise -- and if you weren't lucky enough to be in attendance at Comic-Con last weekend to catch the first trailer's debut, now you can watch it from the comfort of your own browser.

Zack Snyder Reveals First Look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman
As expected, the superhero news is starting to fly (ha!) out of Comic-Con, and some of the earliest comes from Zack Snyder, who tweeted the first official image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just as Warner Bros. was unveiling a brief teaser showing Batman (Ben Affleck) engaging in a long-distance staring contest with Superman (Henry Cavill).

'Godzilla' Sequel Will Have More Monsters

GOJIRA
With Gareth Edwards tied up working on one of the pending Star Wars spinoffs, there's no telling when Legendary will be able to get him back on the lot for a Godzilla sequel -- but as the studio revealed during its Comic-Con panel, they're keeping Edwards in the fold for a follow-up. Appearing in a videotaped message during the panel, Edwards thanked everyone who turned out to see Godzilla earlier this year and added, "It means we get to make another one.

'Tusk' Trailer Debuts, Makes Us Believe in Kevin Smith Again

Tusk
It's been a frightfully long time since Kevin Smith made a movie that made us feel like watching it again (or, in the case of dreck like Cop Out, even finishing the damn thing once), and on paper, it doesn't look like Tusk -- the story of a doofus podcaster who wanders into the Canadian wilderness and gets himself mixed up with a mad scientist who wants to turn him into a walrus -- stands a prayer of breaking that dismal streak.

James Gunn Confirmed for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Sequel

In today's penny-pinching Hollywood, few things are ever left to chance, and Marvel leaves fewer than most. It should surprise no one, then, that even though Guardians of the Galaxy hasn't even arrived in theaters yet, the studio's already making plans for a sequel -- and given the impressively robust early critical reaction to the movie, it also comes as no surprise that they're bringing back pretty much every member of the original team.

Patrick Wilson Exits 'Ant-Man'

5:15 PM 7/25/2014 by Jeff Giles
Patrick Wilson
Ant-Man has already been plagued with an abnormally high amount of turnover -- especially for a Marvel production, where things are generally made to appear as though they've rolled off a high-grade assembly line -- but the movie's recent change of directors, with Peyton Reed stepping in for the departed Edgar Wright, wasn't the last shakeup the cast and crew will have to face.

'Justice League' Eyes a Screenwriter

4:59 PM 7/25/2014 by Jeff Giles
Justice League
Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder must really love what they've seen in Chris Terrio's script for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, because he's reportedly in talks to report for duty again with the studio's upcoming mega-superhero movie, Justice League.

Joaquin Phoenix
Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy were previously rumored to be in the running for the role, but it appears that Joaquin Phoenix is Marvel's top choice to play the title role in its upcoming comic book adaptation Doctor Strange.

'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Sailing in 2017

Pirates
It had to navigate some awfully stormy seas to get here, including reported script problems that bumped it off Disney's schedule and away from its original summer 2015 release date, but Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is finally in the dock, and with new directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg at the helm, it's now scheduled to set sail on July 7, 2017.

J.J. Abrams Reveals 'Star Wars: Episode VII' X-Wing

Xwing
We can't (yet) see what our old friends Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca are up to on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, but we've already been granted a sneak peek of R2-D2 -- and now, director J.J. Abrams has thrown back the curtain on our first look at the return of the X-wing fighter. The ship, piloted by Rebel insurgents in their battle against the Empire, seems set to be making a return to action in Episode VII, at least judging from the glimpse we get via Abrams' new "Force for Change" video.
