Here's Your First Look at Ben Affleck's Batsuit and Batmobile

After months of rumors, shocking announcements, and deafening buzz, the Man of Steel sequel is finally under way, and director Zack Snyder is wasting no time in ramping up anticipation for his next dose of blockbuster superhero spectacle -- in fact, he's just tweeted a photo capturing our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman.

Not one to pass up an opportunity for a promotional tie-in, Snyder wrote, "I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom," and attached a shot of a Bat-cowled Affleck striding next to his new-look Batmobile. We've attached the photo above, but for a better look, you can view Snyder's original tweet.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this one was only published half an hour ago, and it's already inspired many more, with a slew of think pieces no doubt waiting in the wings. In the end, this photo doesn't tell us much about the Man of Steel sequel that we didn't already know, but it's still exciting to get a glimpse of Affleck in the suit -- at the very least, it suggests that this version of the Dark Knight will be on the serious, "gritty" end of the spectrum.

The as-yet-untitled movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016. In the meantime, we can no doubt look forward to many more dribs and drabs of information from the set. Keep 'em coming, Mr. Snyder.
