Guillermo del Toro Will Follow 'Pacific Rim' With 'Crimson Peak'

Of all the projects Guillermo del Toro is developing as directing vehicles, the ghost story Crimson Peak will be Guillermo del Toro's next feature after he's done with Pacific Rim, reports Deadline.
Crimson Peak is described by del Toro as "a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story."
"It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules," del Toro said.
So why Crimson Peak and not Hellboy 3, Haunted Mansion, or At The Mountains Of Madness?
"All the projects in my roster are there because I love them, but the financing process is serendipity. And often, the ones I think will happen don’t, and the ones I think won't happen, do," del Toro explained.
In other words, Crimson Peak is ready to go, pending a rewrite, AND the money is there for the taking. The movie is eying a January 2014 start date. Head over to Deadline for the details.
Pacific Rim is coming to theaters July 12, 2013. Check out some giant robot blueprints and viral videos here.
