We all know Yoda is the badassest Jedi master in that far away galaxy, but is he good enough to be the star of his own movie? We'll find out.

According to Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles (via Collider), the first stand-alone Star Wars movie is not that long-rumored Boba Fett spinoff, but one centered on Yoda. Harry is also hearing that Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy is putting together "a Star Wars slate" so that could mean every conceivably character in the Star Wars universe may potentially get its own movie. That weird looking creature that only appeared for half a second in the canteen scene? Spinoff.

Other than that, no other details were revealed, but a Yoda-centric movie can only be about his younger days, either when he is learning the craft or a wandering master who has not yet taken on his first student.

Alec Guinness had the foresight to asked to be killed off in the 1977 movie. As a puppet, Yoda can not be afforded such luxury. Your only option is only “do,” Yoda.

J.J. Abrams has recently came onboard to direct Star Wars: Episode VII, which will reportedly center on an older Luke Skywalker. A 2015 release was planned, but Abrams may not finish in time to release that year.

Disney's Chairman & CEO Bob Iger appeared on TV and confirmed the stand-alone Star Wars movies. He didn't say what those are about though.
