You'd think, given how long it took for Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez to finally get the Sin City sequel off the ground, that they might have had their cast lined up sooner than later -- but as it turns out, they're still hiring actors months after starting production. In fact, they've only just hired the titular femme fatale for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
The lucky lady is Eva Green, best known to American audiences for her work as the duplicitous Vesper Lynd in the 2006 Bond reboot Casino Royale (and to discriminating softcore enthusiasts for her work in Bernardo Bertolucci's nudity-infused The Dreamers). Miller shared his enthusiasm in a press release announcing Green's arrival, saying:
"Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green."
Describing Lord as "every man’s most glorious dreams come true" as well as "every man’s darkest nightmares," the release went on to share the news that Julia Garner, recently seen in Martha Marcy May Marlene, has also joined the cast in the role of Marcy, a young stripper. (Sure are a lot of strippers in this town.)
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is set to arrive in theaters on October 4, 2013.
