Dwayne Johnson may reunite with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton for New Line's disaster flick San Andreas, according to Variety. He would play a man who has to travel across an earthquake-ravaged state from Los Angeles to San Francisco to rescue his estranged daughter.

The project was first reported by the Los Angeles Times back in 2011 when it was titled San Andreas: 3D. It appears the movie has dropped what is one of the major selling point of the movie from the title in its latest incarnation.

The Conjuring's Carey and Chad Hayes wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was previously worked on by Carlton Cuse, Allan Loeb, Andre Fabrizio, and Jeremy Passmore.

Last we heard, the budget for San Andreas is believed to be around the $100 million range.

Like with the Journey movies, San Andreas is developed as a potential franchise, according to the report. Yep, more earthquakes heading our way if this one is successful.
