Dwayne Johnson Going on Two More 'Journeys'

Journey 2

New Line is developing not one but two Journey sequels and they may be shooting back-to-back, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson are both expected to return.

No word on what the new adventures will entail, but they should be in line with the previous two movies where our protagonists find themselves in exotic locales filled with outlandish creatures.

Brian and Mark Gunn were hired shortly after Journey 2's release to pen the sequel, but now that task will now to go The Conjuring's Chad and Carey Hayes, who also wrote Johnson's forthcoming disaster pic San Andreas.

Brad Peyton will return to direct.

The first Journey, starring Brendan Fraser and Hutcherson, made over $241 million worldwide. The sequel, with Johnson, eclipsed that with $335 million plus worldwide gross.
