'Captain Phillips' Trailer Captivates

Captain Phillips

The last time Tom Hanks spent a significant amount of time in the ocean, he was speaking to a volleyball named Wilson. In Captain Phillips, Hanks will make a return to the deep blue, but this time, he'll have more human company. Catch the trailer below.

Captain Phillips is based on true events and tells the story of the hijacking of an American cargo ship by Somali pirates in 2009. The pirates were able to board the ship but couldn't move it because control of the ship through the bridge was disabled by the crew. The pirates left the ship with the captain as hostage, and the situation was resolved with his rescue.

Directed by The Bourne Ultimatum's Paul Greengrass, Captain Phillips, schedule to hit theaters on October 11, 2013, stars Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, Max Martini, Yul Vazquez, and Chris Mulkey.
