Larry Kasanoff, the CEO of Threshold Entertainment, thinks that brands are "the new stars of Hollywood," so his company is producing a Tetris movie. Dwayne Johnson is apparently taking his talents to Baywatch. He is reportedly attached to star in an unspecified role. Sounds like a paid vacation to us.

Warner Bros. to Reboot 'I Am Legend'

Since Will Smith is unwilling to do a followup to his 2007 sci-fi thriller I Am Legend, Warner Bros. is moving on without him. According to Deadline, the studio is re-purposing Gary Graham's script A Garden at the End of the World, which is described as a sci-fi version of John Wayne's The Searchers, to serve as a reboot of the movie.

Ethan Hawke Is Reportedly Now Playing Doctor Strange

If This Is Famous is correct, Ethan Hawke, not Joaquin Phoenix, will be playing the titular character in Marvel's Doctor Strange. Hawke has reportedly accepted the role over the weekend and is now in contract talks. *Update* Deadline reports that Hawke getting the part is just pure speculation.

Scandinavian helmer Babak Najafi has come on board to direct the Olympus Has Fallen sequel London Has Fallen, THR has learned. He is replacing Fredrik Bond who has dropped out of the project nearly two weeks ago over "creative differences."

Deadpool has finally been given a release date, but, word is, the movie will be rated PG-13, not R like fans wanted it to be. Bryan Singer has officially signed on to direct X-Men: Apocalypse. The bulk of the cast from the original X-Men movies -- Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, among others -- may not make it back for the next one though.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wanted for Oliver Stone's Edward Snowden Pic

If everything aligns, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone's NSA whistleblower movie The Snowden Files. According to Variety, Gordon-Levitt has verbally agreed to the movie, but the sides have not worked out a deal. Stone is directing from his own script and is producing the movie with Eric Kopeloff and Moritz Borman.

Roberto Orci Drops Out of 'Power Rangers' Reboot

Because of his Star Trek 3 obligations, Roberto Orci has removed himself from Lionsgate's Power Rangers reboot and will no longer exec produce the movie, according to Deadline. Even without Orci's involvement, the new Power Rangers pic is still moving forward toward its July 22, 2016 release.

Fox has finally given the green light to that long gestating Deadpool movie, but the studio is apparently not that high on it since it is scheduled to be released on February 12, 2016. Speaking of Fox, the studio has pulled Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed from it's 2015 release slate and has replaced it with The Fantastic Four reboot.
