Adam Sandler's Upcoming Comedy 'Donny's Boy' Changed to 'That's My Boy'

Posted February 3rd, 2012 by Binh Ngo

Adam Sandler is in the news this week for his involvement in the live-action feature adaptation of Hasbro's board game Candy Land. Sandler co-wrote the script with Robert Smigel and he will produce and take a starring role in the movie. Enchanted's Kevin Lima will direct.

It is unknown at this point what the plot of the movie is but the board game involves players racing around a track to be the first person to find the King of Candy Land. The movie probably won't stray too far from that concept.

Adam Sandler also has a new comedy coming out on June 15, 2012 previouly titled Donny's Boy but is now renamed to That's My Boy. I have confirmed the the title change with Sony.

That's My Boy stars Adam Sandler as a man named Donny who fathered a son while still in his teens. When the son's mother is locked up behind bars, Sandler is forced to raise his son all by himself. Let's just say he won't win any Father of the Year awards anytime soon.

Many years later, when Donny's son is all grown up and is about to get married, Donny wants to reconnect with him. All those years of bad parenting will come back to haunt him. Sandler's adult son is played by Adam Samberg.

Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg will be on ESPN on February 5th to host the Super Bowl countdown at 11:45 am. It is possible they will show the That's My Boy trailer then.
