The Hobbit

The second trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is here, and there are dwarves, dwarves!, everywhere. Not only that, the first movie in the newly minted trilogy promises more laughs that a barrel of, well, dwarves. Check it out below.

Directed by Peter Jackson and starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Andy Serkis, and others, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be out in theaters on December 14, 2012.

The sequel, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, will come out the following year on December 13, 2013.

The third, and final, movie in the trilogy The Hobbit: There and Back Again will come out in 2014 on July 18th.

Since the decision to break the original two movies up into three was decided on after principal photography has wrapped, Jackson and the rest of the cast will reconvene next summer for a two months shoot to film the rest of the footage.
