darkhorizons.com CBS’ action series “S.W.A.T.” begins filming this coming Tuesday in Los Angeles, marking the first U.S. broadcast primetime scripted series to resume production since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Actors and crew have already reportedly been tested ahead of the potential shoot and while the situation is fluid and production could be pushed, at present filming is looking to commence on time. “S.W.A.T.” was originally going to launch midseason, but two weeks ago was moved up to a Fall premiere which makes the need to produce new episodes more urgent. Studios are ramping up preparations for potential August-September restarts of various major primetime series amid protracted negotiations with unions over safety protocols.
