While a potential scheduling conflict for "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence has been worked out this week, her director Gary Ross sadly didn't have such success.
The Playlist reports that Gary Ross has exited the franchise and will not direct the upcoming sequel "Catching Fire". Ross reportedly gave formal notice to Lionsgate and Summit earlier this week that he's opted out.
The move is actually a good one for Ross who is said to be already moving on to another project based on something he wrote and will likely earn him a better pay day than he would have received for doing 'Fire'.
With Lawrence's availability windows now quite tight, the studio is going to have to rush to lock down a director in time for a shoot this Fall.
