Water in gas line ruined furnace, Dale resident says
Jim Lux has lived on Nathaniel Street in Dale Borough since the early 1990s. His nearly 50-year-old natural gas furnace, which was recently replaced, had been there much longer. Lux said while he’d been looking to put the old burner out to pasture, the Dale Borough arm of the city’s sewer upgrade was the death blow, and he stepped up his timetable.
Run-off causing concerns in river and streams
When the ice began to break up, chucks of ice almost a metre thick crashed along the banks of the river. Within a few short hours, water levels in the Red Deer River subsided dramatically.
Boat inspection stations open
Inspection stations and roving inspection crews went into operation on May 24 at key border crossing sites, along major highways and on heavily used water bodies in a statewide effort to halt the spread of aquatic invasive species in Montana.
Kneehill County closes creek crossing due to spring run-off
The county, northeast of Calgary, has closed the Hesketh Low Level Crossing. "There are elevated water levels in streams due to spring run-off. Avoid the creek crossing at Hesketh as water levels are rising and dangerous," said an alert issued Monday evening.
